Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
At Windsor South Public School, the creative and performing arts are integral to our students’ education. Through music, visual arts, dance and drama, students learn to express themselves, build confidence and feel a strong sense of belonging.
We offer a range of opportunities for students to shine, including our Junior and Senior Dance Groups, as well as our School Choir. Students also participate in class performances, whole-school celebrations, and our much-loved school musical.
We are committed to nurturing creativity, encouraging teamwork and celebrating every child’s artistic achievements.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
School Musical
Our school musical is a highlight of the Windsor South Public School calendar. Every second year, students come together to sing, dance and perform in a vibrant celebration of creativity and teamwork.
The musical provides a wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, develop performance skills and experience the joy of working towards a shared goal. Families and our wider community are always invited to join us in celebrating the amazing talents of our Southie kids.
Aboriginal Education & Cultural Inclusion
At Windsor South Public School, we are committed to honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and identities. Our AEO supports students to learn the Dharug Dalang (language) in authentic and meaningful ways that strengthen their connection to the Country and deepen cultural understanding.
Students also participate in a wide range of cultural activities, including Aboriginal dance, traditional music and instruments, storytelling, art and community celebrations such as NAIDOC Week and other significant cultural events. These experiences help all students develop respect, cultural awareness and a strong sense of belonging.
Aboriginal education is embedded across our school, ensuring our “Southie Family” culture recognises, values and celebrates the world’s oldest continuous living culture.
Structured Play
At Windsor South Public School, our Structured Play program provides students with a range of safe, inclusive and engaging activities during break times. Staff guide students through options that support positive friendships, emotional regulation and social development.
Students can choose from high-engagement activities, such as soccer, Austag, and other active games, or low-engagement activities like board games, “sit and chill” spaces, and visiting the library. This ensures every child can participate in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable for them.
Our Structured Play approach helps all students feel included, connected and confident in the playground, supporting their overall wellbeing.
